Thanks for a GREAT article! I can't disagree with anything in it. Mel Gibson is my hero. Hollywood has gone so far left it's falling over on its side (or on its face) and I no longer go to movies or watch garbage on television. I can't even watch my old favorite MASH anymore without seeing Mike Farrell's anti-war face leering back at the screen. Too bad. Some of these guys were great actors. They just aren't great Americans anymore.

Walmart's had lovely Christmas ornaments, plaques, etc. this year and I got a few for our new home. I have a problem buying anything made in China, though. I still do, but one day I may have to quit. Ah, what a quandary.

"Braveheart" sure was a bloody movie. I loved it, but I wouldn't want my little grandchildren to watch it. Loved Mel in it though.

What is Hours all about? I see it advertised and I can't figure out what it all means. M

I plan to do the same, I let my son go three different times to see "signs", in support of Mel, plus he loved the movie. I plan on going to this one a few times myself and it will certainly be a good movie for my son to see.

Fabulous Post, proud of you. There are some famous conservative and/or Christian celebrities we should all support: George W. Bush, Mel Gibson, Arnold Schwarz....., Martina McBride, JoDee Messina, Vince Gill, Kurt Russell, Goldie Hawn, and lots of etc.
Also, think twice about doing buisiness where there is a sign outside prohibiting weapons. Likely they support the most despicable left.
Money talks, spend yours consciously. $10 here and there times millions of people will definitely show up on the bottom line.

<< After Rosie O~{!/~}Donnell shot her mouth off, announcing to the world that I, as a gun-owner, deserved to die, but her children were allowed to be protected by an armed guard, I walked away from K-Mart and never looked back. A pity, really, considering I usually spent several hundred dollars annually on holiday decorations and inexpensive, comfy clothes. If you ask any involved gun owner, and they will probably tell you the same thing.
Same here. K-Mart lost me as a customer when Rosie shot her mouth off against the Bill of Rights. >>
Me too.

"Braveheart"was a good movie, but like "Patriot" it wasn't exactly accurate. I didn't watch the gruesome execution scene at the end - I read how he died.
I don't believe the Scots ever "mooned" the Engish, and they didn't paint their faces blue. I think Gibson got them confused with the Picts.
Wallace's greatest battle - Sterling Bridge - was really not shown as the tactically ingenious battle it really was.
The Scots, on foot or mounted on small ponies and lightly armed, were no match for the invading English heavy cavalry and infantry on solid ground. Wallace had all the bridges over one of the rivers in the path of the invading English destroyed except one - at Sterling Bridge - and the English took the bait.
The Bridge was narrow enough for only two horses to cross abreast. Immediately in front of the bridge, on Wallace's side, was a soft, marshy, wet ground. Behind that was a mass of thickets. Wallace hid his force in the thickets. He waited until about half the English army was across the Bridge, then attacked. The Scots, running around in their light armor and cloth and bare feet could move quickly over the marshy ground. The heavily armored English knights and their large, heavy warhorses got bogged down in the marsh. A bunch of brawny Scotsmen with Lockabar axes chopped down the Bridge to keep reinforcements from getting across and the English on Wallace's side were wiped out - totally.
The Brits on the other side were so panicked that they fled south back to England in terror.
A great battle, brilliant manoeuver, perfect for a Hollywood battle scene - and totally ignored.
Oh well, that's Entertainment!!

Thanks, Zulu, for the "rest of the story." M

I hope his film succeeds and I wish him success. However, having seen a few of the outtakes, and having a good historical knowledge of the ancient world, the Bible and a vivid imagination, combined with a weak stomach, I doubt if I will see it. Well, I decided my weak stomach might not be able to take it either, but I'm planning on buying a ticket every week for the first few weeks, and just not going in.
I want to support the movie, it sounds as if it should be supported financially, so that's the plan here. Although I'm fascinated by the idea of a major movie done in the Latin and Aramaic languages!

The Cross has always been a central theme in Gibson's movies (the dramatic ones).
Anyone watching Brave Heart could see in Wallaces death a duplication of Christ's death, suffering silently and willingly and then the final shout.
Nothing is more dramatic then the reality of the Bible.

Thanks for the heads up!

Quietly, but with increasing frequency, Conservatives are making the conscious choice to no longer fund the opposition. And to fund the VRWC, to boot. Amen.

>>I think she nails the reason K-Mart is going down! It ain't Martha Stewart; it's Rosie O'Donnell. <<
I bet you are right. A check of the net profits or revenue graph after the date of her remarks would show a direct correlation.
I also believe that the decline of the Disney fortunes coincided with their embrace of everything non-Christian or moral. They totally disregarded the sensibilities of a huge number of Americans and the free choice of how those Americans spend their entertainment dollars.

It might also have something to do with Walmart having close to twice the sales per square foot. Thus WM can sell cheaper and still make a higher profit than KM.

It's okay to use the word "Christ," just as long as you use it as a curse word.My family is faithful watchers of "The Simpsons."
However, last night one of our sons commented that this year, for what seems like the first time, Homer and Bart often shout "Jesus!" and Christ!" as exclamations.
I'd like to see Bart at the blackboard writing "I will not take the Lord's name in vain" 100 times.
As an aside, Gibson's production company, Icon, is responsible for one of the best movies I've ever seen -- "Immortal Beloved." It was beautiful, and completely ignored by the leftist press.

It's Miracles, and I get the impression that it may not be anti-God. This is from TV Guide:
"Miracles
The Ferguson Syndrome
60 min.
Debut: Skeet Ulrich (Scream) plays an investigator of the paranormal.
Employed by the Church to authenticate supposed miracles, Paul Callan (Ulrich) finds he is losing his faith. Maybe we are alone down here, he says. Disheartened by having to discredit such phenomena, Callan informs his mentor (Hector Elizondo) that he needs a respite and heads west. As if by fate, he meets a sickly boy who seemingly has the power to heal. This is one case he can't discredit, and the child figures prominently in an incredible event that leads to Callan's recruitment by a mysterious organization. Alva Keel: Angus MacFadyen. Tommy Ferguson: Jacob Smith."
