Thanks for this article, it is quite timely for me - last night my husband and I watched Victory (1980 movie with Sylvester Stallone and Michael Caine about a soccer match between Allied POWs and Germany during WW2) and our ensuing conversation was about how Europe largely maintains the suicidal attitudes of pre-WW2, only this time the threat is Islam. He's reluctant to believe that Islam is that malevolent. I forwarded the link to him at work and I think I'll be sending him a few more of your finds in the future as well. Was just talking to a nice Christian middle-older aged man from Australia who was part of the bash-America crowd - sticking up for Iraq and all that. It was like talking with a 13 yr old. Unbelieveable that Christians even are liberal nowadays.
