Crime is high in cities and I know of three seperate instances where just the appearance of a gun stopped a criminal in his tracks in the city that you live in. Also know of an instance that having a gun came in handy up here in the mountains while hiking deep in the woods.

Thank-you for backing up the point I was trying to make! Moving to Atlanta from a small seaside town in Florida (pop. 15,000) was an eye-opener for me. That, coupled with my beloved 1986 Monte Carlo SS being trashed in an attempt to steal it (I had to give it up after 14 years...I was so upset!) let me know in a big way that I had to play by big-city rules from now on!

I hate to hear that crime has infiltrated the mountains. It's depressing, but a fact of life we need to deal with.
