She was 17 when her son, Anthony Valentin, was killed in June of 2000. Doncha just love this passive style of writing reporters are trained to use nowdays? Not, "She was 17 when she killed her son", but "when her son was killed" as though she had no role in it.

Like the Menendez brothers were orphans.

I suspect this woman is retarded. But the jounalists never bother to mention such things when it would reduce the juiciness of the story--just as no media account I have ever seen mentioned that Mary Kay LeTourneau has a severe case of bipolar disorder. Makes the whole story so much more titillating if details like that are left out.

Well, apparently the 'journalist' was probably concerned about her delicate feelings and her self-respect. After all, she did lose a son recently.
