I loved his work in We Were Soldiers. Very clear pro-family, pro-marriage undercurrents in that movie, including the famous line (paraphrased from my memory): "What is the last thing a man says when he's dying on the battlefield? 'Tell my wife I love her.'" Liberals, if the really thought about it, would hate that line because 1)It portrays soldiers as the human beings they are. And 2) It confirms that marriage is more than a social, economic, or legal institution: It is also a spiritual one, and therefore it is not obsolete.
