After watching the video, I am convinced that the cop who shot the dog totally overreacted. The dog was wagging its tail and was excited to get out of the car.
Then, I read where this is the THIRD time the same cop has shot a dog. Sounds more like he owns a cat.

I believe it, but I can't believe that, are you serious, the third time! This guy has a itchy finger. Imagine if a kid had a toy gun or something like that. Scary

"Then, I read where this is the THIRD time the same cop has shot a dog. Sounds more like he owns a cat." Then you'd CERTAINLY enjoy reading the reports he filed on the other two dog shootings. But first, a recap.
In this shooting, Officer Bimbeau filed a report in which he clains, "I backed up and screamed "Get Back! Get Back!" at the dog, which continued to advance."
Now, in ONE of the two OTHER dog shootings, according to The Tennessean which has the reports on its web site, this same Officer Bimbeau put in his report that he "backed up and screamed "Get Back! Get Back!" at the dog, which continued to advance." And that dog shooting was YEARS ago. Note that Officer Bimbeau either hasn't learned since that shooting that dogs don't know what th' heck "Get Back, get back!" means, OR that he remembers that this language on his report got him off the hook before.
I challenge anyone to watch the tape of the incident and find Officer Bimbeau screaming "Get Back! Get Back!" anywhere in it before the shooting.
In case you don't recall who Officer Bimbeau is, he was a bumbling cop on the B-movie "The Hollywood Knights," the first film for Tony Danza, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert Wuhl - NONE of whom list it on their filmographies.

"clains" = "claims"

And meanwhile, the case of the five year old boy beaten to death by his mother's boyfriend in Chattanooga hasn't raised an eyebrow anywhere.
One dead dog. And how many abortions here in Tennessee each day.

So that means we as citizens of Tennessee shouldn't be concerned about an itchy finger cop?

I'm suggesting that the world gain a little perspective here. Focus on the dog if you want.

Note that Officer Bimbeau either hasn't learned since that shooting that dogs don't know what th' heck "Get Back, get back!" Not quite true; some dogs do. But bulldog/boxer family pets have as little knowledge of the meaning of the command as Officer Hall.
Any dog intelligent enough to understand the meaning of "Get Back" would probably consider Officer Hall as being unfit to command.

I hope that what happened to this dog doesn't obscure the fact that a typical family was taken from their car at gun point, forced on their knees and cuffed and covered with a shotgun. I don't believe the saftey of the shotgun was on because I've watched the video and I don't see the officer release the saftey before shooting the dog. This was done despite the fact that no crime had occured. And even if a crime had occured there was NO probable cause to suggest that the occupants of this particular car had committed it. For me, this is every bit as scary, if not more scary, as what happened to this dog.

While I feel bad about this apparently harmless,lovable dog being killed by an apparently thuggish State Trooper,I wish that more people were alarmed at the continuing MURDER of THE UNBORN!!When are we going to get our PRIORITIES STRAIGHT?
