Hmm. Must have been an unusually light traffic day. I drive 30 miles on I-35 northbound every weekday. The stretch between Northwest Highway and I-635 (3-5 miles) comprises 10% of my driving distance but 60% of my drive time. I'd say I average 15 mph if I'm there between 5:00 and 6:30.

Dallas is too big for me. I wouldn't live there. I don't envy you a bit. Wichita is just about the right size and only a few hours from Kansas City if you get bored. KC traffic is tolerable, about like Wichita, only with wider freeways. It is sad that this happened, wasn't it a few years ago some Dallas Cowboy jokes were going around about some legal and drug problems players there were having? I think if you are driving 100 MPH it is indefensible no matter what the scenario. God Bless the victims and their families.
