"Most people feel that their small donations monthly won't make a difference, BUT THEY DO!"
During the summer Freepathon, Freeper Exit148 had an excellent suggestion that I'd like to post here:

For those of you who want to donate during the fundraisers, but find it difficult to come up with a goodly sum when you need it yourself -- just for daily living, ----- here is an easy way to give, but not have it feel as tho you are ignoring the basic needs.
Just save some change each week. At the end of each week, just lighten the amount of change in your pocket, and save it for the fundraiser. After 3 months, those few quarters, nickles, dimes and pennies can add up for a donation, yet not be missed that much in the daily run of things.
Just try it! You'll be amazed!

I started this near the end of the last Freepathon and will count up my spare change tomorrow night and make additional donation for this quarter. It looks like there's probably somewhere between $10 to $12 in the jar. Let's say it's $10 -- that's equivalent to a $3+ monthly donation. Just by saving up spare change over three months. Hey, it's not a great sum of money. But if we had a two or three hundred Freepers and Lurkers (who aren't currently donating because they feel that such a small amount wouldn't make a difference) actually do this, it would certainly help!
I'd like to challenge 250 Freepers and Lurkers who aren't currently donating to try this - start now and see how easy it is to help support Free Republic during the next Freepathon. (Of course donations during this Freepathon are certainly welcome!)
Ok, so much for my 2 cents! ;o)
(Gotta run. I'll try to check back in later tonight. Do you think Exit148's suggestion should be worked in to a thread bomb? Just a thought...)
It's a great idea.
