I think a long-term goal of US foreign policy towards Mexico should be one of mutually beneficial trade terms, and wealth creation.

We have the makings of a solution here - I personally would like to see a variety of options besides deportation available to punish people who have entered illegally.

Because, quite frankly, we're going to find people and when we look at where we're going to send them back to in some cases, we might come to the conclusion that deportation is the WRONG thing to do in cases involving some illegal immigrants, and that we may need to change our laws as they pertain to refugee status. We also may have to re-work some other aspects as well, particularly in the case of people brought over as minors who pretty much grew up here.
