There is also an anthrax island in the UK. Churchill ordered the production of millions of cattle cakes injected with anthrax which were to be dropped on Germany if the D-Day landings failed. It was tested on an island in the Hebrides, which I believe is still contaminated to this day.

I think you refer to the island of Gruinard. It is still off limits, and given the fact that anthrax spores can withstand what amount to deep space conditions, the Gruinard Hilton seems unlikely for the next century or three.
