I am not quite sure I agree with you here, but historically you might have a point. While there is some bashing of the Catholic Church about the Pope's reach, I think that liberalism associates the Crusades with Protestantism as well (and every form of Christianity for that mattter, with the exception of ultra liberal churches like Unitarian). To bash the Crusades is bash all of Christianity, which is much more in tuned with their secularism.

Don't think that the Protestants have all that much of a problem with the Crusades. Ever heard of the "Billy Graham Crusade"? Seems to me Bob Jones U., an anti Catholic outfit if ever there was one, called it's teams the "Crusaders."

What I'm saying is that there's enough of this damn Catholic v. Protestant stuff around here. Why do people feel the compulsion to stir this stuff up?
