The Democrats are in the process of shutting down the Senate to stop the GOP from chairing Senate hearings.
This is going to be two years of total war. Let's see if the media notices!

Senator Sarbanes speaking - He has a problem with allocation of committee resources (i.e. staffing) for the Democrats. He's right: the problem is that the DemocRATs are getting any allocations at all! :-)

Warner saying last week's meeting with Rumsfeld should have been kept private. And the fact that it wasn't just proves WHY Rumsfeld shouldn't be telling them much.

So, who leaked it then? That is a question, isn't it? According to this morning's Washington Times (GOP veterans rap secrecy on defense issues ), Warner is not the only senator who was miffed:
According to other Republican sources, the senators are also upset that this latest conflict between Congress and the executive branch was leaked to the press. It was first reported by columnist Robert Novak in the Chicago Sun-Times. The meeting with the White House staffers was "supposed to be private" to ensure that the senators could speak openly without worrying how their concerns would be perceived.

Are you going to call Hatch's office about that stupid supposed judiciary comm deal?

...........pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3). Pray that our leaders will seek to serve God in a manner that is worthy of their positions of authority.
To: Amelia
If by chance somebody in the executive branch leaked, the leak would give the executive branch a good excuse to keep the senators out of the loop in the future, wouldn't it?

I thought Lott the hat was chairman of the rules committee......heaven help us....

Agreed. I think a phrase that accurately describes them is: "disgruntled former power-brokers."

He started out in almost a conciliatory, resigned mode and stance, with a strong tint of solemnity as he is thinking only about the country's security and business and is not crying about this demRatic delay game nor is he forcing Levin to hand over the reins and is working with him and will continue to. He is more concerned about our military then his pending position as the chairman on the AF committee. These dems are committing suicide , IMO. Let 'em blood.

We can all call Bill Frist and offer our support and express our concern that the GOP does not back down.

I called Senator Frist's office. Thanks for the number. I can't believe this is happening in America...pathetic.

Already did. I am not happy about that little deal, and from the sounds of the staffer's voice, many people aren't.

You gotta wonder what he was thinking when he did it... Not a good judgment call imho...
To: marajade
It's kind of discouraging actually, Hatch didn't have hope or believe that the Republicans could take back the Senate. I keep thinking Orrin will learn a lesson, but he never does...

To: PhiKapMom
CALL YOUR SENATORSI've done that a thousand times in the past. Didn't do any good then either.
To: Mat_Helm
That is the only word to describe them....evil! Especially the two from California and the two from New York. Boxer is from New York, make that three.
Oh and Gray Davis is also from New York....LOL!
