CA: Tribe campaign donations must be reported (SJ Mercury)

IN gambling, as everyone knows, you have to pay to play.

But do you have to play to pay?

Do California's casino tribes have to play by the state's rules in order to pay campaign donations to statewide candidates?

The state's Fair Political Practices Commission is tackling the issue by means of a lawsuit against the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians, which operates two casinos near Palm Springs. At a hearing in Sacramento last week, a judge took under submission the tribe's motion to dismiss the suit.

I thought politicians were required by law to reveal large campaign contributions. So, why should the 'contributors' have to reveal who they contributed to? If the politicos are honest, the contributors shouldn't have to do anything.

You answered your own question - if politicos were honest,Clinton would have admitted he knew what the word "is" meant, China wouldn't have had so much influence in the Clinton White House, Torricelli would be admired. . . . . . . .
