I agree there were strong female characters. My comments referred to male attitudes toward women. It's OK, you guys can stop defending yourselves. It's alright. It is as it is.
Okay, I misunderstood. I thought you meant how James Jones portrayed women in the books, not how the characters themselves perceived women.
Get a bunch of guys together in one place and that's pretty much the way they talk about them. But on the bright side, about 90% of it is braggadocio.
