There have been several sensational news items like this posted, but I haven't seen any information about what actually kills these unfortunates. Blood clots? Heart attacks? Do they forget to breathe?

Playing those games does elevate the blood pressure, heartbeat and causes an output of adrenaline. Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything ;)

I would assume that it's caused by blood clots from sitting too long and not getting good circulation.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that it was heart arhythmia from not enough sleep or Deep Vein Thrombosis from sitting on one's can too long. There have been several Deep Vein Thrombosis deaths from people sitting in one position on long plane flights. You may have noticed that they now encourage moving around a bit on planes.

Some of the flight victims have been quite young.

To get excercise I throw my dog's toy out the door of my study (on the ground floor, with a door going to the back yard). To stay healthy during long Freeper sessions I have a huge leather chair where I can elevate my legs, even take short naps.

Video games are pretty dull compared to Free Republic.
