Sen. Hillary Clinton's camp blasted actor James Woods yesterday after he maligned the New York lawmaker this week.
Woods, who plays former Mayor Giuliani in the upcoming cable pic "Rudy," said Wednesday that Giuliani "went to over 200 [9/11] funerals. Senator Clinton went to zero. That's a simple statistic you never read."
No wonder you never read it: It's not true.
Woods' comments were "factually inaccurate and extremely inappropriate," said Clinton's rep, Jennifer Hanley.
Hanley noted that Clinton attended many police and firefighter funerals and gave a eulogy at the service for FDNY chaplain Father Mychal Judge.

If James Woods had said "Rudy went to 200 TV-camera-free funerals and Clinton went to zero of those" he would have been 100% right.

I remember FOX making a big deal out of the fact she had not attended funerals.

Hanley noted that Clinton attended many police and firefighter funerals I hardly think it was "many."

Mr Woods is to be commended for taking on "The Bride of Satan". Few in Hollyweird would dare.
To: veronica
I bet there won't be many police and firefighters attending her funeral.

Mr Woods is to be commended for taking on "The Bride of Satan". Few in Hollyweird would dare. Maybe his role as a vampire hunter in "John Carpenter's Vampires" helped him train for this.

Didn't the Bi**h only attend when the media was present?

Actor James Woods: 'I'm A Rudy Believer'
By Diane Werts - Newsday Staff Writer January 7, 2003 HOLLYWOOD -- "Rest easy, Rudy Giuliani.
Though James Woods can be a volatile star, both on-screen and off, his portrayal of the ex-New York mayor in a USA cable bio-flick isnt likely to diminish any luster for those who revere the man as a hero of Sept. 11.
Im the true Rudy believer in the whole group, Woods told TV critics at the Hollywood press tour alongside co-star Penelope Ann Miller and director Robert Dornhelm, promoting the March 30 Rudy premiere. Theres virtually nothing about Rudy Giuliani that I dont unequivocally admire.
Its clear in the preview clips shown by USA that Woods has studied Giuliani closely. He isnt doing an imitation, but hes captured the urgent rhythms of Giulianis voice, his fidgety energy and the bullying bulldog the man can at times become. And Woods is certainly an admirer of Giulianis politics, digressing on Tuesday repeatedly to express disdain for David Dinkins term as mayor and for great empress Hillary Rodham Clinton.
If I told the story, he admitted, the guy wouldve had a halo all the time.
But that didnt happen. Director Dornhelm (Anne Frank), said after the session that his goal was to hold up the mirror and show the man the way I think he is. Im not doing the heros journey.

Did Her Heinous attend any funerals away from the cameras?

Did Her Heinous attend any funerals away from the cameras? I'd bet she's caused more funerals than she's attended. Her husband certainly has, many times over.
To: ohiobushman
After the public, televised booing she got, I think she'd avoid funerals with the press present. Of course, she won't do anything without the press around, which means, she didn't go to any funerals.

I think I remember reading she attended a few ceremonies that she knew would be presided over by firemen's and police union officials that she could rely on.

Hanley noted that Clinton attended many police and firefighter funerals ...I hardly think it was "many."Far be it from me to defend the hildabeast, but in the interest of accuracy, I saw a photo of her weeping at one of the funerals. I have it somewhere.
