"We shouldn’t restrict all the Saudis construction of Mosques or madrassas, only those that preach anti-Americanism and hate. A nearly invisible distinction."

Wrong! If the Saudis refuse to let Christian and Jews build houses of worships in their country, or even set foot in certain areas of their country, then you are accepting the role of a bitch in the American/Saudi relation. Why do you suppose it is unfair to expect equal treatment?

It is like the Saudis should let us build Churches and temples as long as we don't preach venomous hate against Islam. The Saudis don't even let us set foot in their stinking country. How unreasonable should we allow them to be before you would get upset at them, and at our government for letting them get away with such abuse.

I’m not going to support the arbitrary closing of Mosques because that would turn me into a Saudi, nor would I support “equal treatment” based on lowering myself to the Saudi level.

However there’s a lot we could do to inhibit their ability to finance the teaching of hatred in their institutions in the US, as well as controlling the curriculum, but the government needs to be pressured to do it. More important, we should be straightforward in recognizing their financing of terrorist organizations and, if they don’t stop it, declare them a terrorist state.

Reciprocity in other areas would be fine. The Saudi’s don’t allow visitation for purposes of tourism, only with a business sponsor, and, of course, no Jews. It would seem perfectly reasonable to apply the same standards here, let them in for a legitimate business purpose, but when they flee the precepts their faith, let them do it in Monaco instead of Las Vegas.

The concept of westernization through a western education doesn’t seem to work. Let them go to school elsewhere. Learn to fly there too. We need to be vocal in confronting the hatred they spew, but we don’t need to turn our back on our values to defend them.

Actually the opposit is correct. The ignorant Moslems are more tolerant, and less militant. The educated Moslems, especially the ones who spend a good deal of time in the US or Europe, they start thinking that they are too smart. They will use our system of open society to defeat us. They would preach hate against us, and go under the cover of FREDOM OF SPEECH The government and the media must recognize that the fifth column trators are all over the US. We should ignore the feer of PROFILING, and be aware of every stinking Moslem around us. Yes yes not all of them are terrorists, but thall the terrorists are MOSLEMS!

Essentially that's what I was attempting to say. The idea that they assimilate our culture and values if we allow them here to learn our skills is a fraud.

Freedom of speech as a cover for hate speech is a serious problem we will have to live with. The biggest problem the many (people tell me that) peaceful Moslem's create by not speaking out forcefully against the fanatics is that they marginalize themselves and place themselves under suspicion. Profiling is simply common sense.

The KSA government had expressed its opposition to the stationing of U.S. diplomats who were Jewish because it believed all Jewish people, irrespective of nationality, can be considered Israeli spies.

Gee, they sound like a number of FReepers I know. Are any FReepers or Buchananites (assuming I'm not being redundant) Saudi spies?

Then there is our Pres giving lip service to the goodness of Islam in their Mosque...
Not the best place for a born again Christian to be doing homage imo

"A picture's worth a 1k text doc". And why not? Just hastens the inevitable. It will have to be done eventually. Good thing I'm not running the show.
