If this law is passed in New Jersey, anyone who owns ANY kind of gun and makes ANY kind of repair to THEIR OWN GUN without having a "balistic fingerprint" done, can go to jail for 18 months and get fined up to $10,000.
Ms. Weinberg is a dedicated anti-gunner and responsible for New Jersey's recent "Smart Gun" bill. As her party, the Democrats, control both the Assemby and the Governor's Office, this bill has a better than excellant chance of passage.
If these fascists succeed in Jersey with this idiotic law, it will encourage similar bills in other states and in the Federal Legislature.
If you are from New Jersey, write the sponsors of this bill and your own state repreentatives and tell them you will NOT support anyone who votes for such an idiotic bill.
If you are NOT from New Jersey, write your own state representatives and federal reps and tell them you oppose anything like this. You might also write Ms. Weinberg et al and tell them what kind of idiots and fascists they are.

Next thing, they'll outlaw private automotive repair shops. Think I am kidding? They're on the verge of adopting it in Los Angeles.

Some state, a homosexual Governor and a lunatic fringe Assembly!

A defacto gun registration and ballistic fingerprinting.....
Wonder if replacing scope rings are included, or ordering a replacement magazine?........The people keep electing these LIEbral Idots.....
To: trebb
I'm sure that would be included. One of these idiots, Smith
is a Lawyer and I'm sure he was involved in drafting the bill. All the other sponsors were DemocRATS.
Probably even altering the sights would be consiedred a "repair", or using a quick bluing solution to repair some worn bluing.
This stuff is SO TRANSPARANT. It has NOTHING to do with criminal deterrence and EVERTHYTING to do with making it as difficult as possible to legally own a gun or enjoy the shooting sports.

The big problem here is not with the gun shops. There are vey few of them in Jersey anyway.
This bill is aimed point blank at GUN OWNERS. It will provide another opportunity to harass them.

Not surprised at all.
My next prediction is to require some kind of permit to own power tools. A person could get their arm cut off on a table saw!!!
This all started with laws like requiring seat belts, permitting the police to randomly stop law-abiding citizens and put them through embarrassing and time consuming sobriety tests when there was no indication of any drunk driving behavior or any reason to believe the driver was drunk.

Most Jersey citizens don't own guns, have interest in guns, are urbanite refugees from New York and have absolutely no knowledge of firearms or the issues really involved here.
They are sheeple who have been brainwashed by the mainstream leftist T.V. and movie media and the yellow journalism rags which masuerade as "Newspapers" in that benighted state.
The scary thing is that this nonsense spreads. Ballistic fingerprinting, a non-solution to criminal use of firearms, started in liberal Maryland. It got so bad there that gun manufacturers refused to ship their products there and the state police couldn't be bothered with running the ballistic tests.
The fascist pigs in New Jersey like that bitch Weinberg have decided to go Maryland one better with this repari your own gun and your a criminal law.
Remember the "Assault Rifle Ban' now federal law, originated with the lunatic leftist New York City refugees in New Jersey under the prior DemocRATis governor there, Florio.
