Cops have degenerated from your ideal view of them, much in the way that public school teachers and administrators have. Dumbed down education, the wrong incentives, and too little attention to constitutional basics - it's the same for every function of government except the military, which still, in some measure, keeps to a traditional code and where the sharp end is still thankfully pointed away from citizens (Waco excepted).

Overtime pay, fines, siezures, and risk avoidance are the hallmarks of modern policing. The priority targets are those that plainly cannot resist, and the thuggery was vivid and clear in the video. NONE of the apologists for the police have said one word about how to improve policing. NOT ONE WORD IN THE WHOLE THREAD. To them, policing is perfect the way it is (except for higher pay!). Gee, you gotta wonder if maybe their family income is somehow connected.

The REAL image of policing is one of declining solution rates for murder and rape, ridiculously bad performance solving any property crime, spiraling costs, inefficient use of human resources, featherbedding, corruption, personal problems that range from astronomical divorce rates and alcoholism rates, and, of course, the blue wall of silence.

In other words, police are not effective at producing results that middle class conservatives find valuable, and their performance is in decline. They are enthusiastic about constitutionally dubious laws because they generate revenue. They are hideously expensive. And they think there is not a damn thing wrong with them. No wonder they cannot figure out why a CONSERVATIVE forum rips thier performance.

NONE of the apologists for the police have said one word about how to improve policing.

The bootlickers who are defending this thug, would be the first in line to call for the arrest and prosecution of Joe Q. Citizen, who carried a handgun and shot a REAL attacking dog with it.

They would also defend the police stealing Joe Q.'s gun.

However, when one of their 'gods' shoot an innocent puppy dog, their attitude is that the family should thank the JBT's for not shooting them as well or for not charging them with some phony felony.

I wish the bootlicking brigades would get the hell out of my country, and go somewhere that their attitudes are welcome like China or Russia.
