Howdy, Great Dane. Max and Gabz can sure tell you that I have no qualms with it getting a bit rough after going toe to toe with some of the gawd awfullest antis over the years. They usually run and hide when faced with facts, or else they bray louder whilst trying to change the subject. I've seen you all posting here from time to time, just haven't dove in as of yet. Guess now is as good a time as any. Mighty good questions you ask. Not sure where the antis get their info, other than mostly making it up or manipulating it in some way. Here's some info on smoking rates you might find interesting.
(mimicking Richard Dawson) Out of 72,000 people polled, aged 12 and older, what percentage of those 18 and over reported lifetime smoking?
And the suuuurvey says 70%.
According to the survey data collected in 2000 by the Department of Health and Human Services, 47% of adults 18 and over reported smoking at least 100 cigarettes, while a whopping 26% reported smoking within the last month. When including all people who have reported smoking at all, of those aged 12 and up, the numbers jump to 67%, or 148 million Americans.

That is for sure. I was beginning to break a sweat defending myself from the almighty non smoker.

I'm not a smoker but I'm cheering you guys on for rolling your own smokes and bypassing the taxes. Of course, that means that those tax-hungry government bastards will start coming after my beer next. That's okay, I can start brewing my own beer at home if it comes down to it.

And just where now do you live?

Ya gotta be in the mood for that sort of brouhahahahaha and that's a fact. Was almost fun to slap the antis around, but worrisome that some I thought were good and true turned out to be watermelons...red on the inside. Ah, well...

Sam, the government is already going after obesity. Tax The Tubby! They shot the goose that laid the golden egg when they went over the top with cigarette taxes. People who enjoy smoking are not going to quit. Not when there are so many wonderful alternatives to buying this legal product.
But your right: since the states aren't realizing that windfall from the taxes on cigarettes, they will have to go after something else. This money, in their midget minds, has already been spent. It's not coming in, now, they have to go after it somewhere else. Good luck there!

Why is it the anti's keep insisting that people are quitting, where do they get their info, does it not occur to them there are ways around high prices. When cigarette sales drop off because the state has gouged the smoker with high taxes, smokers who do not want to quit find better ways to afford this legal product.
But of course, the anti's put the spin on this saying that people are quitting. They are blinder then I thought.

How do the "stuff your own" ciggies taste compared to the main brands? I currently buy US brands made overseas (EU) and while the price is right, the flavor is not. They aren't as strong, basically. Still a good deal, but nothing like a "real" US cigarette. I smoked More Menthol for years and years. Nothing could ever compare to my More's. However, when they were taxed up to $50 a carton, I soon aquired a taste for menthol tobacco in bags.

With RYO/MYO you have a large selection of loose tobacco blends and various tubes so you can pretty much concoct your own favorite flavor. It takes a little experimentation to find your special formula but it's well worth it. You can call 1-800-CHEWERS for a catalog that offers a "Sampler" of six different loose tobaccos in small amounts, which I found to be very valuable.
Check out RYO Magazine for current trends and products.
Smoke cheap--it's your civic duty!! LOL

Thanks. Mr. Suckle has some problems. He did not respond to me today. It is amazing that with all of the problems we face as a nation that folks, with who we may otherwise agree on important issues, fail the test of rational thought and debase their own arguments with malice and prejudice.
