Democrats don't push the suburbs away They are pushing them away by demonizing everything they do - SUV's, smoking, etc.

after the first President Bush. Bush did two things that infuriated suburban voters. He let the economy falter. And he raised taxes. Ask any suburban politician what's the fastest way to commit political suicide, and he or she will tell you: Raise taxes. Bush's betrayal opened the way for the DemocratsTo put this more clearly and accurately, Bush cut a "deal" with the Democrat Congress in 1991 to raise taxes in exchange for cuts in spending. They simply double-crossed him -- they raised taxes (their favortie thing) but didn't come close to cutting any spending. And laughed at him for making the deal ("Hey! Don't blubber! You f*cked up!! You trusted us!" -- Otter to Flounder, after their "road trip").
How did this lame-brain ever get to be a political commentator anyway?

"The Republican Party has long suffered the perception of being the party of mean old white guys."Yes, thanks to the Democrats' domination of The Mainstream Newsmedia (also known as The Democrat Propaganda Machine).
"Taxpayers want government to do two things: keep taxes low and keep the economy booming."
No, four things. You forgot: build highways and defend the nation. Otherwise, you're right. That's it. I want government OUT OF MY LIFE and in particular OUT OF MY WALLET!

Not as long as the Democrats don't push the suburbs away by threatening to raise taxes.
The Democratic party as it exist today firmly believes "from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs." The only thing that may change with the Democrats is they are becoming stealth tax raisers.

(The Democrats have never seen a tax that couldn't be improved by increasing it)

None of this matters. What matters is voter fraud and the illegal-alien vote.

Bush's betrayal opened the way for the Democrats, under Bill Clinton... Wrong! Ross Perot opened the way for the Democrats, under Bill Clinton...
