You ever notice the wierd similarities between Dune and the Middle East? Desert planet (desert region), Spice (Oil), The Fremen (the religiously driven indiginous people of the ME), House Harkonen (Russians), The Empire (Europe), House Atreides (America).....Wierd huh?
