Mrs. Bush said most Americans might be surprised that she and the president still talk to their twin daughters every day, no matter what crisis is transpiring.

"We call them, or they call us," she said. "Sometimes we just get their answering machines. And especially if it's the president calling, he'll say, 'I'm just calling in to say I love you.' And leave his 'I love you' message."
