Believe it or not Ron Maxwell is a Republican, yes a Hollywood producer and employee of Ted Turner who is pretty conservative. He made the film Gods and Generals and the highly-acclaimed Gettysburg series before that.

I've also seen him on EWTN on the Arroyo show where he talked about one of his films -- a true rendition of the life of Joan of Arc which is not like what we saw on NBC. He shelved the movie since there were too many being shown at the time, I think one was on TV and another in the theatres.
