I'm not a fan of Edwards either, but he has about as much experiance as Dubyah did in 2000. If experiance was the major criterion for election Gore would be President.
Thank God he ain't!

I think it'll be a GOVERNOR from the South or Midwest that'll threaten Bush the most. 1st term Senators don't do too well. Most of the credible Southern Democrat Governors were taken out.

Which leads me to Bob Graham - he was a 2 term Governor before becoming Senator.

I'm insulted that you would compare being a first term senator from NC to being Governor of TEXAS! :)

GWB had been governor of Texas and reelected in a landslide (in what had been a Dem stronghold) before he began the run for the White House in 2000. As a Texan, I can vouch that he did far more actual governing before that run than a junior senator from Mayberr will ever accomplish by 2004 - and thank heaven, GWB is NOT a lawyer.

I think you need to reconsider that statement. Suggest you pull up both bios and do a comparision. Don't forget 43 was in and around the White House during 41's tenure.

George W. Bush had a great deal of management experience before he was governor. Note also that Bush had been re-elected once in Texas. Edwards has never had to stand for re-election and one could easily argue that he is running for president for the express purpose of avoiding doing so.
