I'm surprised nobody has advanced the theory that the only reason they actually refuse medical review of the procedure and the infant is because something has gone terribly, terribly wrong and wish to avoid being held accountable for their actions.

Not that the second clone popped out of the first one, ad infinitum and hell, we can't feed the masses already and now this, but just at the messes we are creating.

You'd think they'd first master the secret of regenerating hair for good ol' Rael before they advanced to entire species.
