His oath of office includes the phrase " to defend and uphold the constitution". He should be immediately removed from office for violating his oath.

Oath, smoath, he should be fired for complete stupidity, if he can't figure out that the bad guys will continue to get guns regards, just as they continue to get drugs even though those are illegal not just in Chicago, not just in Illinois, nor even just in the United States, but in all of North America, and in most of the world. Even if guns were illegal worldwide, criminals would still get them. By stealing from or buying them from corrupt members of, his police force or the military. They'd also be made in machine shops and home workshops, just as "meth" is cooked up in barns and even "on the road". Only the law abiding would be disarmed, just as they are today in various liberal cesspools with high murder and other crime rates.

And he should be arrested and tried (by a jury of his peers) for sedition.
