Besides which, on Miami's first touchdown drive there was a critical 3rd down completion that was facilitiated by a blatant hold in the backfield that wasn't called.

In the play that MacGahee got hurt, there were two holds evident, one could have gone either way, the other was ridiculous. OSUs first drive: Clarrett got turned as the ball came to him and wasn't called. UMs second TD drive, Winslow clearly stopped well short of the first down, but the gave him to where he slid, plus to where he put the ball over his shoulder while lying on his back. OSU picked up a first down they shouldn't have too.

Everyone keeps talking about all of the missed calls and bad calls. There were several against both teams. Ohio State won the game for 3 reasons:
1. They played their game, averaging yds 191.3 rushing and 173.2 yds passing and got 145 yds rushing and 122 yds passing last night while playing conservative and nursing a lead.
2. They kept Miami from playing their game, averaging 284.2 yds passing and 181.6 yds rushing, but limited to 304 yds passing and 65 yds rushing last night. (Oddly enough, both teams were held to almost exactly 100 yds less than their average. This, too, favored Buckeye-style football.)
3. While each team had two interceptions, Miami lost three fumbles (compared to OSU's none). Also, Miami had three consecutive drives ended by Ken Dorsey turnovers in the first half. Mistakes cost Miami more than the over/under of the blown calls. That's not what a national champion does. To be fair, OSU had poor passing stats (7-21-0-2), but everyone knew going in that this was OSU's defense vs. Miami's offense.

BTW, would those saying that the penalties cost Miami the game please explain why OSU was called for 3 more penalties than Miami was?
