EDWARDS' MILLIONS

John Edwards has $2.5 million and needs to get rid of it in the nine weeks before campaign finance McCain-Feingold goes into effect and outlaws spending soft money, reports USA Today's Jill Lawrence. It appears that Edwards will be spending the money mostly in Iowa and other early primary states. Lawrence writes, "Iowans are accustomed to attention and largesse from White House hopefuls. Even so, state party officials say Edwards is unique in his devotion. 'This is taking assistance to the next level,' says Sheila McGuire Riggs, state Democratic chair. 'We are very appreciative.'"

In addition to giving to candidate campaigns, Lawrence reports Edwards has bought 219 computers and lent them to local Democrats in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and North Carolina ($110,000), paid for an absentee ballot promotion for an Iowa state Senate candidate ($12,500), bought 100,000 automated phone calls urging Iowa Democrats to attend their caucuses ($50,000), and printed up 800,000 color leaflets for Iowa state and House candidates ($62,000). She notes, "Each features prominent quotes from Edwards and was paid for by his PAC, New American Optimists."

Thought it was just me, but he reminded me of that clown, Mcbride, who the clintons got to run in FL. He didn't stand a prayer of winning with his lack of understanding issues. Another similiarity -- trial lawyer!

One of the TV pundits wisecracked that the Dems are backing Edwards "because he looks like Laurie Dhue!"

Can't remember which program, but the panelists laughed hysterically.

Hi, Phi Kap Mom...Good to see the research has started on Edwards. He is reported to be looking for a Country Music group to do a theme song for him. Mark Warner (D-VA governor) used this approach to make it appear that he is a "regular" guy. Please add me to your ping list.
Thanks...Nana

You have been added to the ping list. Edwards doing country doesn't seem to fit! Bet he looks like a fish out of water when the song plays with him out in front!

Edwards ran on and on, and blurted out that traitor-rapist42 is pulling his strings.

Like Wiley Coyote looking down, he fell like a rock:

"But I'm my own man."

Uh huh, right, shooor you are, Son.

Eeeeuuuudwards will do just fine--as long as he's wearing a radio earpiece to get constant prompts from Scumbag.

[He is an airhead totally Cloud-Nined since t-r42 blew in his ear.]

Great post. He's an empty suit ambulance chaser, chasing an ambulance carrying the Democratic Crime Syndicate on life support from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

I wonder if John Edwards is related to "Edwin Edwards" the former Louisiana governor who is now serving time in Federal prison for racketeering, fraud, bribery, and a whole host of other crimes.

Edwin Edwards was also a "trial attorney!"
