I have heard many African blacks complain of abuse at the hands of urban American blacks. And some of them were from Amadou Diallo's country of Guinea. But when Diallo was killed, all of a sudden, American blacks all over the New York area used him as a surrogate for themselves.

Something all the african americans in NYC always conveniently forget. There were more police shooting by NYPD officers on african americans under David Dinkins then there were under Guiliani. In fact, in one year under Dinkins, something like 40 african americans were killed by cops. There was never a year under Rudy that ever, even came remotely close and yet they villanize Rudy and loved Dinkins. (I had kids in my class in college who believed anytime a politican talked about cutting down on crime it was code for persecuting african americans. I never understood that, not even to this day).
