The answer is very simple.

1. Remember the red and blue election map. It is only the over-populated, minority-filled, "culturally enlightened" metropolis' that keep the libs in power. There are so many factions and groups cobbled together that it is hard to have a coherent, acceptable message to all. The vast majority of real America is conservative, but New York City, San Fran, LA, Chicago etc... in theory can collectively negate the will of many, many states. The great equalizer is the electoral college in Presidential elections, but doesn't play a factor in statewide elections. That's why Republicans traditionally win the White House even when the House was controlled by Dems for 40 years.

2. In the old days before cable, America got their news from the big 3. Even middle America was forced to listen because there wasn't an alternative. The Dems were in heaven. Also, the national news was only on for 30 minutes a night. Now there is 24 hr cable, internet and talk radio.

3. Most people who vote Dem are not interested in politics. Minorities, gays, seniors, enviros etc...They are spoon fed what to believe and cable news shows are a blur on their way to MTV, comedy central or HBO. The lib's target audience wouldn't watch them unless there was a rapper, profanity, nekkidness or soap opera murder trial. Those that pay attention and ask questions are going to listen to Rush, watch CSPAN or Fox News.

The Dems only message is division, race and class warefare. Thinkers see this and tune it out. The sheep won't watch because they are apathetic to politics in general. The Dems can't win and they know it. Their only hope is to carp and whine that the bad ol' rich Republicans have a monopoly over the airwaves and something must be done.

"The great equalizer is the electoral college in Presidential elections, but doesn't play a factor in statewide elections."

I will never forget the first public announcement of Hillary Clinton following her "election" in 2000 and while the result of the presidential election was still being tied up by Al Gore, that it was past time to do away with the electoral college and I believe she also said something about working to do so. That would, indeed, be a complete win for the RATS who really do not represent more than the cities. Think of the the recent "election" of Mary Landrieu. As typical. they waited till the last minute to start producing their results after they knew they were losing and set out to "find" the necessary amount of votes in the two major cities in Louisiana to swing the election in their favor. This is a favorite technique of theirs and one that needs to be challenged by doing something such as requiring ALL votes to be in before ANY are counted.

The cities with their RAT infestations combined with large doses of voter fraud, effectively negate large numbers of conservative votes in every election. Elimination of the electoral college would be a dream come true for the RATS and under no circumstances should be allowed to occur.
