"Slash government in Half across the board...get the Feds out of the States business...Slash the State Govmints too...This economy would go to the moon"

Oh really...lay off tens of thousands (maybe even hundreds of thousands) of Federal and State government employees into an economy reeling from the impact of 9/11, and the stock market adjustment, and that would make the economy soar?

They can stay in their positions as long as they come mow my yard, clean the house etc. etc.

At least it will free us up to go earn more money to pay for their bloated existance.

Yes it would...

Of course don't dump them all at once...don't be silly

Are you implying that the net end result would not be better for the economy and the people...?

I contend that 50% or more of government services are a drain on the economy...privatize it and make those bueracratic parasites private employess of openly bidded contracts...competition always yields the most efficent solution...

Yes it would soar. It costs probably 100 grand to hire one govt worker to make 25. An awful waste of money. Govt is like having kids at home, drawing out of dads wallet to survive. Once the kids are off the dole, dad is much richer, and the kids become more productive than ever. Of course none of this would happen today, or maybe even this year, but over a short period of time, this economy would expand like never before.
