Why Win If You're Going to Wimp Out? (Rush Limbaugh asks Republicans)

Why Win If You're Going to Wimp Out?

January 2, 2003

There is no reason for going soft on the Bush agenda, yet we're doing that more and more on everything from ending racial discrimination (aka: affirmative action) to tax fairness to Saddam. If we'd already dealt with him, we wouldn't be faced with this supposed dilemma over whether North Korea or Iraq should be our primary focus. It's not a dilemma, anyway. They're both going to be dealt with, so there's no reason to create these openings.

Reuters reports that President Bush plans to unveil an economic stimulus package expected to reach up to $300 billion, including "targeted" tax cuts, but only a 50% cut in taxes on corporate dividends to shareholders. The original proposal was to eliminate them, because it's immoral to tax earnings twice. It's double taxation. It's ridiculous. For crying out loud, why do you win the White House and Senate if you're only going to water down your agenda?

I love this administration when it comes to foreign policy and protecting us from terrorism, but I continue to scratch my head over some of this on the domestic side. If this Reuters story isn't just wishful thinking, the White House is going to shelve tax cuts because they fear the Democratic lie that it's "for the rich." They don't have the sand to go out there and cite the IRS figures we have on this site, proving that only the rich are paying income taxes.

Who are "the rich," anyway? It used to be millionaires. Today it's any family that earns $100,000 a year - and we have multimillionaires like Kerry and Edwards and Rockefeller and Kennedy saying, "I have my wealth, so I don't favor a wealth tax, but I'm going to tax income so you can't get wealthy."

The White House is also said to be staying out of the Supreme Court case of a woman kept out of the University of Michigan because of her skin color: white. Admission based on race is wrong, but the administration fears taking the woman's side because it would damage White House counsel Alberto Gonzales' Supreme Court confirmation.

They're also ready to extend unemployment insurance yet again – which means paying people not to work by taking the money from those of us who are working. Folks, the Democrats are going to criticize us no matter what we do. It's absurd to back down on our agenda. As Senator Mitch McConnell told me in our upcoming Limbaugh Letter interview, the Senate only has six months to get things done. The Democrats want to bottle things up so they can have issues. Why help them out?

That's what's so attractive about rove's idea on SS. It's "stealing" their issue, but it's NOT a cave..

It's great. If we can solve that one then it's a feather in our cap for 2004.

I want to see more ideas like that and less ankle grabbing. Why have control if you're just going to piss it away?

If you read my history here at FR and other sites since Dec 2000 the agenda is to keep the democrats out of power. That is it.

The way I go about it and my mode of action depends where I am posting and what and why. The Bushies are people that no matter what Bush does they support him. They are people I don't have to worry about voting for him, this election year 2002 FR was under control and 100% behind Bush so I wasn't really needed here to fight it out so I went to a site of 3rd party voters and day after day the message was vote for the r's not the d's and the 3rds don't count.

At the liberal site I post at its always a mop up of their BS and lies about republicans and the President, so there i post different from say here or the 3rd party site.

Read the art of war by Horowitz.

Yep, we are gonna:

1) FIX the problem, conservatively.. (so cool)

2) Prevent them from beating us over the head with it or reversing us on it.

3) Keep all the seniors.

4) Gain a bunch of younger voters who know there's not going to be anything left for them at the rate we're going.

5) Brag about it.. Loudly in 2004.

It's great..

Rove's push for SS? How's it a cave?

IMO, we win right down the line.

Why do you assume that I haven't read the Art of War?

You still need to find a different stead.

but make no mistake if Bush turns left he is as much a target for defeat as anyone that ever reminds me of a democrat liberal rat! Sorry but when people voted for him and he said he would do certain things they expect it from him. Either he is a conservative and is going to get the agenda passed or he isn't and he won't get the agenda passed. Real simple stuff!

Come out and say what you want to do and do it!

On all the issues that is all Bush has to do now. The people know what the rats are a nothing party of broken ideas and broken words!

"Maybe Bush's are only given 1 term draws from the new world order string pullers?"

Naah.

In the last two years, progression of the tenets of One-Worldism has accelerated behind the veil of a bogus "Homeland Security" and a calculatedly blurred U.S. sovereign border resulting in a diluted pseudo-American citizenry.

Junior is doing more than just fine.

I dunno..

Some days I think every Black conservative on the face of planet earth is right here on FR.

The other 95% are pretty solidly in the other camp.

I wasn't using that as the example, more like the farm bill and the education Bill and the CFR signing. To those on the outside it all looked like a cave!

Yes.

That's because it was a cave.. It was a calculated cave, done with all eyes on the Senate, but it was still a cave.

Can you say Trent Lott? Which is why calling him a racist everyday here does not help! Trent is the one that is going to win the Black vote for us. I know it sounds hard to believe but its true.

Good Grief .. the man has only been in office 2 years and during that time he has had to deal with Dems stealing the Senate and holding up important Bills, The Clinton recession, China downing and holding our plane, 9/11, Afgan (which most these happened in the first 8 months of office).. then let's add Iraq and North Korea on top of that .. along with all the other messes that Clinton left

And people expect him to clean up the last 50 years over night?? ..

I say grow the hell up and take a good look at reality .. it might help
