This tool should ask the question "how many innocent lives will locking mechnisms cost and how many criminals will they save?".

I won't hold my breath, intellectual honesty is not a strong point for socialists.

Wasn't it Paris Glendenning who held a press conference showing what a minor inconvenience gun locks are, and it took him a few minutes to get the lock off the gun.

Another serious issue is that the Taurus lock on revolvers (do they have one for the Semi-Autos?) locks the action, so that the hammer can't be cocked. It's about the only safe way that a loaded (Semi-Auto) gun can be locked. I know that a trigger lock on a revolver isn't a safety issue, but to really "safe" a weapon, the action (breech or cylinder) should be locked open, like with a cable lock.

Of course, this makes a weapon completely unusable in an emergency situation for self defense, but saving the lives of the victims of crime has NEVER been important to these people.
