I'm not reading about Time magazine's "persons" of the year. Nothing against chosen "persons" Cynthia Cooper, Sherron Watkins and Coleen Rowley

"But I never thought I'd come here as a soldier in the Vagina Army." How do they salute?

Have some respect. The Army of Northern Vagina kept the Union at bay for several years.

How do they salute? Never mind that -- HOW DO I GET IN?

TIME selected three women who blew their whistles too late to change the outcome of their employers problem. They did nothing to influence history.

Dinner and drinks.
To: RightOnline
Ah, yes.
And talk. Lots and lots and lots of talk.
To: RightOnline
They did nothing to influence history. Exactly. That's why the selection is such a joke. A further testiment to Time's growing irrelevence.

We need something elseand not just windmills off Cape Cod, or solar panels amid the redwoods. What's required is a big fat brain trust. Successful or not, the project's a winnerTranslation: "we need a big, fat, new government bureaucracy. Successful or not, it shows we're making an effort." Barf!

Why is there still no Manhattan-Project-style effort underway to develop non-oil-based fuel sources? Actually, this one is easy to answer: because there's no perceived crisis in the supply of oil. We have enough proven reserves for about the next 100 years and suspect that actual reserves are even larger.
We get "Manhattan projects" only under intense pressure, such as a major war. Absent such pressure, there's no political rationale for a crash program. BTW, that also happens to be the reason why the current space program sucks.

Barf!Keep sending your money to the Oil Barons of the Middle East, then. Or would you prefer to have gasoline at $5/gallon before we begin to support R&D of future energy?
To: Chemist_Geek
Agreed. It will take an Apollo-type project to rid us of our dependency on foreign oil--and I am all for it. It is a matter of national sovereignty and security. If we could become energy independent, we could let the middle east sink in it's oil.

"But I never thought I'd come here as a soldier in the Vagina Army." The Vagina Army...wonder if they earn The Purple Vulva for bleeding on the battlefield?
