We've got the 150 channel deal, and in complete agreement that there's still nothing to watch, most of the time, anyway. We do like Discovery Channel, Biography Channel, TLC, and even CourtTV (when Forensic Files is on).

Still, that's not much for 150 channels. We've created special menus and weeded out the shopping channels, the music channels (not just MTV, but the ones that are really radio/stereo), the cartoon channels, etc. That makes surfing a little easier, but it highlights that we aren't really getting 150 good channels.

Still, it's worth it. From 6-7, I'm completely unavailable to friends and family; that's when Special Report with Brit Hume is on. I can't get enough of the "Grapevine" and the panel.

I have DirecTV's basic plan.  The key for me was TIVO. With TIVO, there is more programming recorded that I can watch in a day.  And it is ninety percent stuff that I would watch.
Can't imagine managing 150 channels without TIVO.   There is always something good on the hard drive, whether it is live or not.
