According to many diplomatic theorists Stalin was able to secure far to many concessions from Roosevelt, despite the fact that the USSR was largely devastated by the War. By being overly generous, FDR allowed the USSR to expand Soviet/Communist dominance after the war in ways that the USSR would not have been able to do otherwise. This expansion, helped lead to the cold war and the need to contain further expansion (see, eg, the domino theory). The need to contain further expansion led to US involvement Korea, Vietnam, and Grenada.
