Sure wager is lottery exploitation of poor

Last week's record Powerball prize generated a windfall of publicity for that multi-state lottery. Several cable news channels gave live coverage to the press conference announcing that one lucky ticket buyer had won a nine-figure jackpot, and in subsequent days the national media dedicated extensive coverage to the story.

How does state sponsored gambling, which appeals to our baser instincts such as greed and covetousness, promote the general welfare?

Don't forget bar soap, shaving cream, tires, batteries, telephone bills, paints, limos, larger boats, ammo, fire arms, fish hooks.....the list is ENDLESS. < /sarcasm >

A car is also a necessity here in Newport News, and like you I drive an older car – a 1983 Camaro Z28 with a 350 engine, in very good condition. I now pay $0 a year in private property tax and my insurance premiums are low.
My comment was directed to the purchase of “high-end” cars.
