Twiggy is pulled by a remote-controlled boat
A special celebrity is making a splash at the
New York National Boat Show - Twiggy the water-skiing squirrel.
Twiggy - a Florida grey squirrel - is turning heads among those who have flocked to the Jacob K Javits Center to admire the millions of dollars worth of luxury boats.
Twiggy always wears a life- jacket while performing
Standing on a miniature pair of water skis in a custom-made pool, the timid little creature is towed behind a remote- controlled toy powerboat operated by her trainer, Lou Ann Best of Sanford, Florida.
Mrs Best says she has looked after and trained Twiggy for 20 years - since a hurricane blew the animal from its tree-top nest.
"You really can't discipline them," she said, describing her training techniques.
"It's a lot of love and repetition that gets them to where they are supposed to know what to do."
The performing squirrel has appeared on national television as well as at boat shows and fairs around the world.
Twiggy has provided an interesting diversion to some of the more extravagant items on display.
The biggest yacht in the show is a 57ft-long vessel called "The Azimut" which costs $1.75m.

No Video, rats, I mean squirrels. LOL
on a semi serious note a video clip would go good with the clip from

That is the bird feeder that gives squirrels a thrill.

Hey I saw this water skiing squirrel at a show here at a West Palm Beach Boat show last June. I didn't know this squirrel was such a celeb or I would have asked for an autograph.

Obviously working for peanuts. I think the rodent needs an agent......

Great video. This obviously means that squirrels should stick to what they know: water skiing!

I wish that the Yankee Flipper video was of a little better quality, I would like to add it to my collection of clips. Have you seen the clip of the chimp sniffing his finger, to put it delicately?
Happy New Year Regards

Yep--very funny chimpvid.
And that birdfeeder: does that thing merely spin--and that is enough to knock them off?
And best in 2003 to you and yours!

That's only cuz his cousin Vinny wasn't there.

He was on CNN and FOX yesterday, too. He's a star.

Our late, departed Golden Retriever, Prior Lake Jake, loved to get in the boat with us when we went water skiing on weekend mornings. I think, with a little work, I could have had him up on all four's...

Sorry folks, but I think it's mean! Anything to make a buck for some people.Well, if you think of a twenty year old squirrel, he hasn't had it too bad.

To: Lando Lincoln
"Well, if you think of a twenty year old squirrel, he hasn't had it too bad." Almanac has average life of 10 years and a max of about 23 years. Considering he could have been a speed bump after one or two he's done pretty well.
