North Korea raised the stakes in its standoff with the United States Tuesday, stating that war was likely but that invading American troops would be wiped out "to the last man."

Good Grief .. who the hell said we were going to invade North Korea

Regardless of what Rumsfeld has to say, we do not have the wherewithall to manage a land war in Korea. Bush has not the will to take out the nuclear plant, instead Powell will talk them to death with appeasement.

I am sorely disappointed by our current approach to N. Korea. We should be whacking them upside the head but instead we're burying our head in the desert sands of Iraq.

N. Korea is a clear and present danger and must be treated as such, even if that means calling up more reserves and positioning our forces for a 2-front war on WMD.

What U.S. invasion?
Korea picked a fight with the U.N. by kicking them out. I'm sure others will be happy to take care of Korea right now.
We're busy.
Talk about propaganda lies. Geeez.

I will work to reduce nuclear weapons and nuclear tension in the world – to turn these years of influence into decades of peace.

And, at the earliest possible date, my administration will deploy missile defenses to guard against attack and blackmail.

Now is the time, not to defend outdated treaties, but to defend the American people.

Slapping them upside the head may seem tempting, but you would be condemning hundreds of thousands of S. Koreans, Japanese, etc., to death. Refusing to be blackmailed by them and urging the other interested parties (which include Russia and China) to set them on the right path, is the way to go.

So much diversion. What a joke. Onward to Baghdad! Once we've finished our work there, NK will pipe down.

What would Churchill say? Thought this would be appropriate.

The Only Way to Peace
Winston S. Churchill II
Former Member of the British Parliament
December 1982

I’ve yet to meet anybody who would dispute what we all know about the horror of nuclear war. It must be the prime objective of all of us to do all we can, as individuals and jointly, to see that we never have a world war in the nuclear age. But I believe it is vital that we should be ruled in these matters by our head and not by our heart, by our reason and not by our emotions.

I have been to Hiroshima. I don’t believe anyone can go there without coming away with the most powerful feelings. I came away with a determination to do all in my power as an individual and as a member of the British Parliament to see that we never again have a world war. But I also came away with a very strong determination that never would the British people be naked in the face of a nuclear attacker in the way that the Japanese were in 1945. That is why I disagree with those in Western Europe who advocate unilateral nuclear disarmament. This would leave the Soviets with their infantry intact while completely getting rid of our own nuclear weapons and requiring all U.S. nuclear weapons to be withdrawn from Western Europe. This could set the stage for World War III, and it would be catastrophic.

“The idiot child has the matches now.” These were my grandfather’s words when he heard of the successful testing of the first atom bomb. Today we must eliminate any chance of nuclear war. But this can only be done through strength, not through weakness.

Everyone has their own opinion, but I for one am getting sick of this BS. When have we had a POTUS more willing to defend the US? Not recently....We are very close to major war and these kind of statements are reeeaaaly helpful.

who the hell said we were going to invade North Korea

N Kor said so, and they have been saying it for several years. Probably been in this phase since the Clinton admin said they might bomb the NK nuclear plants in '94.

I got no pop up when I just clicked the link.

I got it the first time, and clicked the ad off. I went back to check it again for more info, and I didn't get a pop up ad at all. Maybe after the cookie drops the ad stops?
I really did get that pop up. No joke. It was green colored to boot!
