There's plenty of information out there about what Osama and his ilk think. For example, the speeches of Osama. The last thing in the world they would do is quote him because such wouldn't support their wished-for interpretation that places fault and blame on America, or that clarifies that Osama hates the ideas that they themselves would hold dear.
A few years ago the Communications Workers of America (CWA) ran radio ads that attacked Bell Atlantic (now Verizon) and its use of subcontractors as repair persons.
I called one radio station and talked to a gentleman there, telling him that I thought the ads were unconvincing. Instead of answering my concern, he went into a diatribe about how the station and the union had "First Amendment rights" (a point with which I had no dispute at all).
In other words, instead of defending the union position, all he did was namecall.
