Yes....I studied them last night. I think a 9000lb WARN is the ticket.

Poor old 8 year old LR....she'd never gotten stuck before....and thru a lot of stuff that even at times 4 wheelers were afraid to go thru. I felt bad for the old girl....it was my damned fault.

I like the old Land Cruisers....boy howdy they have held their value well.

Thanks and Regards.

Is yours the old fashioned LR with the tire on the bonnet, or one of the new suburban assault vehicles?

Just kidding - I have a Ford Explorer now, a little more useful than a two-seat Land Cruiser with two jump seats when you have kids -- but I have taken it a lot of funny places, including through the world's largest mudhole at a Boy Scout encampment. (I suddenly had an Explorer in a tasteful shade of Georgia Red Clay. EVERYTHING was mud-colored, including the glass and the kayak racks on the roof. But we did NOT get stuck. Some folks did. I took one look at the guy going through ahead of me and set the range to 4W LOW.)

I still see our old LC around town. It's in good shape, the only thing the guy has done to it is take off our home-made trailer hitch and put a Class III Draw-Tite on there.

My son stuck his GMC pickup on the dirt road that leads to Johnson Cave. I'm usually one that doesn't like to get muddy but I had a dinner date with my wife that motivated me. The fear of being late and facing a wrathful wife makes a guy do unbelievable feats. We jacked the truck up in the mud and chopped up brush, branches and small trees to put under the tires. We made it out but since I didn't want to slow down, I slammed my head onto the inside roof. I never noticed that the truck didn't have a headliner before.

My son has a '74 Ford Bronco sitting in the driveway for the last two years. It needs an engine and everything to the tires. It also needs body work. Come to think of it, there's only the remnants of a Bronco there.
