a more thought-provoking article on the subject is to be found elsewhere on this forum (five or eight months ago) concerning the most up to date lay report on the shroud of turin.

Idiotic.

Jesus was Jewish and probably looked so. But to extrapolate that fact into the creation of this "face" and body is the height of idiocy. 110 lbs?? I don't think a 110 lb man could drive money changers out of a temple or work as a successful carpenter.

I think the figure in the shroud of Turin looks both Jewish and resembles what taditional interpretation of his appearance would be like - 5'10 or 11 and of powerful build,
with sriking, not common features.

I have heard that the "Europeonized" Jesus with his long hair is a false image. Observant male Jews of his time kept their hair short according to scripture.

This image of what Jesus may have looked like is on the cover of Popular Mechanics this month.

I wonder if PM answers the question "What Kind of Car Would Jesus Drive?"

Neave and a team of researchers started with an Israeli skull dating back to the 1st century. They then used computer programs, clay, simulated skin and their knowledge about the Jewish people of the time to determine the shape of the face, and color of eyes and skin.

But you can't make those assumptions. His Father wasn't from that area... (snickers and runs)
