Yep. And remember, this land can not be sold back to the government. We need to use this topic to our advantage to make it either go away, or, work in our favor. But the shrill ones won't say anything about this if they can't take potshots at people. Oh, well.

He should tell a robber he is armed so the robber can kill him first?

I'm ignorant regarding the laws in NYC---what would have happened if this guy had attempted to register his handgun after bringing into the state? Not living in NY (thank God!) I'm not totally up to speed on all the legal details there. I think that if you move to NY with a handgun, it is technically unregistered when you cross the border and you could go down for a felony, but there may be some grace period, legal or operational, that gives you some chance to register.
Even if there were such a grace period, however, this guy clearly lived there and had a chance to register his rifles, and couldn't have bought a handgun without the authorities knowing about it, so he's as clear-cut a case as can be found about who the real target of such gun control laws really is.

That's what he deserves for living in that communist infested rathole of a state.

I'm feeling both charitable and pissed off right now. Does this man have a legal defense fund I can send money to?

Yes, I am a nut.
And you are a fish. Didn't take much to catch you. You'd make a fine police officer, jump to conclusions and name call.

Hi! Long time no see! How you been?
Yeah, I know...didn't put the sarcasm tag....
After all the bashing on another cop thread I thought I'd play devil's advocate....
You were right, wen't over some folk's head. But that was part of my warped plan too.
I wish you a very Happy New Year.

As far as I care, they can take potshots - we'll do the work and earn the credit ourselves.
Have a happy new year.

OK, I'll admit ignorance in this matter. Why on earth was this man, protecting his life & property, owning legal guns, arrested?
To: TightSqueeze
A gross miscarriage of justice.

sorry, now I see, he would be protecting himself in an "unlicensed" manner...
To: Libertina
from a "licensed" criminal, no doubt.

I was through your area (Fredericksburg) in Sept. for an NRA school. We had little time to do anything. An officer from our dept. wanted us to stop by his sisters house for dinner with her family but we didn't have time for that either.
I wanted to go see some of the Fredericksburg Civil War battlefields, but it'll have to wait for another time I suppose.
Beautiful states, Maryland and Virginia. I did have a few Guinness when I was there. I'm sure we'll have a few one of these days.
Until then, Slainte!
