Well, let's start with the fact that she is not the "freshman" Senator from Washington State, that title is held by Maria Cant-think-well, who defeated Slade Gorton in the 1998 election. Peppermint Patty's turn comes up in 2004, and it is high time she goes.

If she had merely said that OBL bribes Middle Easterners into supporting him, this would not have been news. But, instead, she blathers on about various forms of infrastructure, including her sacred "day care centers", and looks like a fool first, and a traitor second. This was covered by the local news media, but it will be long forgotten by them when 2004 rolls around. Hopefully, we will find a good Republican candidate that is willing to drag it up to embarass the people of my state into voting her out of office.

Here's another area where the liberal media has actually helped Republicans. Because Murray is a 'rat, the media never sufficiently held her feet to the fire, and the result of that is that she has not made amends to all the Americans she insulted. This will make the issue much more potent if and when a challenger revisits it in '04. Contrast with Lott. That problem was fixed. Republicans have to fix their problems because of the media. With the 'rats such matters are allowed to grow and fester.

It's the same with policy. 'Rats aren't challenged to explain and justify their policy proposals to anywhere near the same degree that Republicans are. The result is that Republicans have better policy and are better able to elaborate the reasons why it is better.

No need to wait till Murray's reelection. Murray remains on the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee by vote of the RAT caucus in the Senate. Their feet should be held to the fire over this.
