I disagree with you over the ethnic ties comment. Although you may be right over political ties. But that would be true for any other leftist wacko kook in this country. Any comments you here in support of Fidel by Hispanics has more to do with their own commie leftist wacko views then it has to do with ethnic ties. Because really, Cubans and Mexicans do not see themselves as having any ethnic tie. The only thing common between them is that they do speak the same language. But that's about it.

Well, David, you may be right about ethnic-vs.-political ties. But remember Mexico was one of the first countries to recognize Castro's regime. Mexico has long been one of the principal trading partners of Castro. Maybe the tie goes back to 1520, when Cortez arrived in Mexico from Cuba!
