BTW, I did read your posts. I'm not moved. Did you read my post #73?
To: Republic of Texas
That's what I thought
Contrary to a few delusional misinformed or just plain stupid people on this thread Like I said ... you need to go down to 7-11 and buy a six pack of 'clue" cause right now ... you don't have one
To: Republic of Texas
I have, lets see...0 degrees, Yeah ... it's obvious
To: clamper1797
I may not have a clue, but I have TWO jobs now, just in case. I am not sucking the Federal tit, or coming on a conservative website and whining like a liberal.
To: PatrioticAmerican
"Meanwhile, illegal Mexicans get free welfare and food stamps."
That's a lie...
To: Republic of Texas
Sorry but I'm done for the day ... one would normally have to visit the local Special Ed school to meet someone of your intellectual prowess.
Your mind is made up so why confuse you with facts
To: clamper1797
Most of the millionaires in this country don't have a college degree. Instead of piling up degrees, you might want to get out and learn something.
To: clamper1797
Wow, the third grade retort. You are amazing. I can see why you can't get hired at a doughnut shop.
To: Republic of Texas
Listen sonny, I was working EVERY minute I was in school. And I've probably paid more in taxes than you'll ever make in your life. So run along to your Burger King job and enjoy your "secure job" ... and I don't want fries with that
To: Republic of Texas
I suggest you have a look at my profile ....
To: Republic of Texas
Cause if I or people like me did'nt get our degrees and do what we did ... you would be speaking Chinese or Russian right now
To: Republic of Texas
You really don't have a clue. If you were living my life right now, you'd be singing a different tune. My savings is being eaten by medical expenses and classes to make myself more marketable - meanwhile, I'm trying to get a job - any job - and get the same responses clamper1797 mentions. Unles you've been in the situation I am in, or clamper1797 has been in - you can take your attitude and give it cause to traverse your digestive tract in reverse.

Damn, what a bunch of excuses. You are the crazy one. I KNOW managment in fast food, as I said, they plan on EVERYONE being temporary. I absolutely believe that the high tech folks think these jobs are beneath them. I am absolutely certain that a doughnut place would rather have a reliable person who *might* leave for something else some day, then someone who may not show up, is shiftless, etc. I am absolutely positive that Burger King, Krispy Kreme, etc could care less if you *HOPE* one day to continue to your field. Hoping to become a doctor or lawyer or return to your old job someday will not preclude you from consideration for a job with a fast food or retail place. They would rather higher someone reliable anyday, then some low income slob who might leave in 3 months anyway after ditching work for a couple of weeks.
Give me a break folks! I was a professional in the financial industry, bonded and licensed and all that, making a nice income and Lowe's and Target both had NO problem hiring me to work for them when I went looking for part time work. They did not preclude me when I said that sure, perhaps one day, I *might* go back to work for my old employer, but I promised I would work my best while I worked for them and abide by their rules. They hired me instantly. I'm wondering what kind of attitudes and requirments some of you are going to these jobs with. I have yet to be turned down or not called for any retail job I have applied for--not one! My mother works in retail and has all her life and she has not had call backs, but not me--always got called back at least. I don't think you and others are giving us the whole story, truth, whatever. Your experience is just so far from reality as to not be believed. Unless of course it's only high tech people who seem to be pariah--hell they'll higher a former stockbroker, financial advisor, nurse, etc, but they won't touch an engineer--ok, right...

You can't find anything at the DOD in TX?
To: Keith in Iowa
Right on Keith !!! ... what a maroon
To: Publius6961
People on unemployment were TAXPAYERS and wouldn't get a fraction of their stolen money back from the gov't in a 100 years.
To: marajade
Interviewed at SGS Thompson Dallas, TI Sherman(where I have taught before) I was laid off from Motorola. 99% of the high tech job ads are BOGUS. They are there to satisfy the government mandate to attempt to hire American engineers before hiring H1B's. They are NOT hiring Americans.
To: clamper1797
What about the military in San Diego, CA?
To: marajade
I would LOVE to get back into the DOD but they are especially not hiring right now. I tried Lockheed and Lawerance Livermore
To: marajade
I would be an officer but I'm too old. My good friend is a Rear Admiral and tried to get me in some years ago ... no luck
