A search of Amazon.com for "Edmund Hillary" returns him as the author of 20+ books.
A search of "Edmund Hilary" returns just one, an out-of-print, large print edition (the title of which also appears under "Edmund Hillary").
On the basis of his publishers should know: I'm going to keep spelling his name "Edmund Hillary"

Please add me to your ping list. Greatly appreciated and thank you. I'm in New York State and she concerns me greatly. I never thought she'd make Senator and I'd like to think the New York voters who elected her are sorry for their choice.

Maybe Bill told her when they both used to play in the same crib and watch black churches burn in Arkansas.

I think that she was originally named "Heil-lary" but due to the Third Reich's unpopularity in the USA at the time of her birth she changed the spelling.

Anyone aware of any other prominent *Hillarys* in Socialist politics, education, or financial circles around the time of her birth, particularly around the Chicago area where her early years were spent?
Alternately, any *Hillary* classmates of her mother's, who might have been a particularly close personal friend or mentor of that name, who for whatever reason, the Rodham/Clinton organized Ccrime families don't wish to see recalled, thereby requiring the *Sir Edmund* cover story?
Sounds like a FReeper research project for the New Year!

I thought I'd check a book about the 'toons that I happen to have here. Called "State of a Union" by Oppenheimer.
Apparently her name comes about this way: Her mother had been thinking of a number of names shortly before Hillary was born, and chose Hillary Diane because it was "exotic". Hillary wasn't named after anyone in particular, only because the name was different.

You know what Doug? Either new stuff that sticks needs to hit Hillary or we may see her run in 2008 for real.
The problem with the past stuff was that it was all washed away when nobody in the political arena were willing to go after the Clintons. I think the reason for that was simply due to respect for the Presidential office.
Remember that even Nixon wasn't persued after he resigned, but I do think that gave the Clintons a fresh pass and let Hillary start a new career in politics and frankly, I think her every move is now calculated so she doesn't get caught in anything new.
We know she is everything we talk about, but it will take new issues to drive her off the stage now...IMO!

Hmmm ... it does make for a good research project! Thanks for the heads up! Well, you might be located a little closer to Chicagoland newspaper archives and clip files than I am, but I bet there'll be a resurgence of interest on the subject as Hillary's name is floated for consideration for a national office in 2004 or 2008. That at least does give us a little time.
I have some other interesting avenues of research going as well, some of which are mentioned on a couple of other threads. I'll ping you, with a couple more to arise in the future, I'm sure.
And have a happy, if busy, New Year!
