If it doesnt involve America and Americans in this time of crisis then it doesnt belong here.

And my point was that there are plenty of 'breaking news' items every day that don't directly involve Americans ......like the suicide bombing in Chechnya that murdered 40 people today. In your opinion, should that story have been posted here?

Gee golly, 9/11 what was that? Seems to me it was a Saudi and Eygptian story. Or maybe a "Wacko Muslims who have fostered generations of hate against Americans and Jews."

Yep. No story at all.

Why is it that we conservatives support Isreal over the rest of the semitic world? The reason I ask, is that we are supposed to be the party of Christ, so why would we support Jews over Muslims, or vice versa? It seems to me that until either one of those groups accepts Christ, then they're both to be avoided. Isreal, especially, because they don't have oil.

Could it be that they are the only democracy in the Middle East??? That there are no muslim oil bearing countries that even come close to being a democracy, just evil little tin horn dictators.

Let me give you a hint, we didnt do a thing to Israel that we havent done to everyone else. 911 would have never happened if we werent running around sticking our noses in everyone elses business. Regardless of the trappings we dress it up in, foreign policy is about money, there are no great moral motivations despite your personal beliefs or what you have been told.

Even though I am a Christian, my support of Israel comes from the double-standard that I have seen applied to the Jews.

The Balfour Declaration gave the Jews the right to settle in the Mandated land... and under pressure from Arab/the Arab Street/Terrorists, the West has consistently backed up to the detriment of the Jews.

Even when the Allies knew that the Nazis were murdering Jews, the British still would not allow the Jews to immigrant to Palestine and escape the concentration camps. The reason? The Arabs protested.

I have watched the double dealing and flat out hypocrisy of the world when they used blackmail and coercision to get Israel to accept what amounts to suicidal appeasement.

I have watched the truth of the Mandate/Resolution 242 get so twisted by Arab propaganda that even our politicians do not know the truth. For example, how can Israel be illegally occupying territory in the West Bank when the Mandate has never been repealed?

I have watched with disgust as the leaders of the West fawned over the words of a known liar (Arafat). They have wined and dined this thug... watched him break every promise he made... and still demand that Israel believe what comes out of his mouth.

For 100 years, we have learned nothing from our history while the Arabs have learned everything. They learned that just the whisper of a threat can cause the West to run for cover promising the terrrorists whatever they want just as long as they don't hurt us.

Anti-Semitism is ugly... it comes in various forms and shapes. That is why I support Israel.

If I lived in Israel, then I would be an Israeli. I would log on and visit the Free Israeli homepage and read lots of interesting Israeli stuff. Id be pretty bent if someone kept clogging it up with American stories.

At this point all you are trying to do is disrupt a thread of those intrested in breaking world news. If you only want to read about U.S. breaking news and do not understand how the world affects us then do the only smart thing and only open threads about U.S. news! Other wise leave this thread alone or go to the moderators with your complaints and your wishes on new rule changes that fit with your point of view.

as long as they're not in a position of leadership

I really have nothing more to say to someone like yourself. You might be surprised to knwo that there are MANY non-Christians who hold leadership roles in the GOP, whether they be on a local, state or national level.
