RELIGION OF PEACE UPDATE At least two Palestinian gunmen infiltrated into the Israeli town of Otniel, south of Hebron on Friday night, the Jewish Sabbath, and opened fire killing four Jewish students and wounding at least seven others, the IDF said.

According to a report on Channel 1 television the terrorists entered the dining hall of a yeshiva (Jewish seminary) as the students were sitting down to their Friday night Sabbath mealr and opened fire.

At least one of the gunmen was killed and security forces are searching for the second.

The wounded were being evacuated to the Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva by ambulance and by military helicopters.

A Magen David (Israeli Red Cross) spokesman said that three of the wounded had been evacuated. One in a serious condition and the other two are in a moderate condition.

The spokesman said that four of the casualties could not be evacuated due to continued gunfire.

Islamic Jihad gunmen kill four in attack on Otniel yeshiva (UPDATE) By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF

Two Palestinian gunmen infiltrated into the West Bank settlement of Otniel, south of Hebron on Friday night and opened fire killing four people and wounding six, the IDF said. Three soldiers were lightly wounded in a later gunbattle with one of the terrorists.

The Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack. Both terrorists were killed by the IDF.

According to a report on Israel Radio one of the terrorists entered the kitchen of the Otniel yeshiva (Jewish seminary) just after 8:00 PM as the students were sitting down to Friday night Sabbath dinner and opened fire on the students working in there, killing them. He then tried to enter the crowded dining hall but was prevented by one of the students who managed to shut the door.

The radio said that one of the terrorists was wearing an IDF uniform and carrying an M-16 rifle.

One of the gunmen was killed in the dining hall by troops from the Lavi Brigade who arrived at the scene. Two hours after the attack soldiers from the Nahal brigade and IDF trackers found the second terrorist, who had fled, near the village of Daharia and killed him. Three of the soldiers were lightly wounded in the ensuing gunbattle.

Residents had been asked to remain in their houses following initial fears that the second terrorist had hidden in a building in the settlement.

The wounded were evacuated to the Soroka Hospital in Be'er Sheva by ambulance and by military helicopters. The Magen David Adom said that one of the wounded was in a serious condition, with the other four in a light to moderate condition - suffering from gunshot wounds.

The three soldiers were taken to Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem.

A spokesman for the Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack in a message sent to the Hizbullah's Al-Manar television station in Lebanon. The spokesman did not name the attackers but promised to do so later.

He said the attack was in response to the killing of nine Palestinians by the IDF on Thursday. In particular the killing of Hamza Abu Roub, 35, a senior Islamic Jihad military commander in Kabatiya, south of Jenin.

The army said the attackers came from the direction of the nearby Arab village of Samoa.

The shooting came a day after Israeli troops killed nine Palestinians in raids in the West Bank and Gaza Strip In the past, Palestinian terror groups have carried out revenge attacks for such Israeli strikes.

Friday's shooting came after a month of relative calm. However, security sources said that 21 attempted infiltrations had been foiled recently.

But it must be accomplished. I'd say America's interest dates back to June 1968 when Sirhan Sirhan (early phase pali terrorist of sorts) assassinated American Presidential candidate Robert Kennedy.

It should be Germany's business dating from 1972, when pali terrorists murdered folks at the Munich Olympic games.

It should be Italy's business dating from 1985 when pali terrorists murdered folks aboard the Italian "Achille Lauro" cruise ship.

Indeed, there IS a global quest for forced expansion and domination by islam, beyond any interest in Israel.

If 9/11/2001 isn't conclusive enough for an American to feel threatened, by extra-national islamist terror and expansionism, there's little chance for intelligent debate.

It matters little or not at all, whether al Qaeda, and Hezbollah, and Hamas, and Islamic Jihad are highly centrally organized. They hold the same objectives, and use the same tactics, and are against the same common foes.

Shiite Iran pairs up with the Shiite Lebanese. Funds their Hizbollah units etc. As Muslims they feel they have to get their licks in. STILL, Iran has always been nicer to it's Jews than the Arab nations. Even now 30,000 Jews live there. Hopefully Iran changes for the better but being that it's an overpopulated, dry, dusty Islamic nation the Islamic fundamentalists have a good chance staying in power due to discontent and unemployment.
